Paul Smith X Harry Styles’ two main competitors include Ted Baker and Hackett. Both brands sell very traditional British clothing and have been around for some time. All three brand are known for immaculate tailoring and top customer service. Their traditional garments all have a modern twist too.
Paul Smith was found in 1976 after he showed his first menswear’s collection in Paris. Before that, Paul began managing a boutique in Nottingham in 1970. Paul took tailoring classes after he finished work in the evening so he was able to create his designs. Originally, Paul never had any intentions of working within the fashion industry. In fact, he was intrigued by sports and wanted to become a professional cyclist. However, these plans changed when he was 17 and had a tragic accident. Paul would visit a local pub which was frequently visited by students from the nearby art college so he often spoke of art. This made him realise he wanted to be part of their world.
Paul has done amazing for himself, his brand is so popular worldwide especially in Asia. Each store represents Paul and his design, however no Paul Smith store is the same.
