An assessment of cluster groups that stand out as having a significant area of active gullying within a relatively confined area include : Blue Valley , Hell ’ s Gate / Panhandle , Havilah West , Belmore / Birralee and Turrawulla . It should be noted that as part of Stage 1 of the project , assessment of the relative sediment yields from the respective clusters or suitability for remediation has not been undertaken and is part of Stage 2 of the project .
Additional consideration was also given to the property status under the Vegetation Management Act ( 1999 as amended May 2018 ), proximity to watercourses under the Water Act 2000 and the nature of the underlying geology and soils .
These sites were considered by the Landscape Remediation Working Group at a meeting in January 2019 to identify a subset of sites for potential works under the Landscape Remediation Activity Area . Two sites were excluded as they are technically outside of the BBB catchment . A first cut against a set of agreed criteria was then applied to the remaining 15 clusters according to the following : gully concentration , gully area and diversity ; the willingness of the landholder to have investment on their property , vegetation conservation
