The objective of the Landholders Driving Change ( LDC ) Project is to work closely with groups in the Bowen- Broken-Bogie ( BBB ) catchments to trial a range of regionally tailored , coordinated actions that reduce sediment , and through those actions , particulate nutrient loads . Throughout this Major Integrated Project , progress in achieving land management practice changes , economic benefits for landholders and pollutant load reductions are being closely monitored and results are informing an adaptive approach to management . For example , the project design has been modified annually to reflect delivery success and where possible , monitoring design has been adjusted to improve data capture and reporting . Synthesised learnings have been compiled into case studies to inform future program design and implementation . It is hypothesised that by concentrating large efforts into high sediment generating areas , working with a wide range of land managers , and closely involving landholders in the design and implementation of this MIP , a steeper trajectory in water quality improvement will be achieved than would otherwise occur . This is reflected in the goals , outcomes , and activities in the summarised Program Logic for the LDC Project in Figure 1 .
The monitoring , evaluation and reporting activities in the LDC Project provide the basis to demonstrating what the project has achieved , and for developing projected outcomes for the longer term . These activities are documented in conjunction with 90 evaluation questions in the LDC Monitoring and Evaluation Strategy . The project has two longer term outcomes – one about water quality improvement and the other about increased stewardship . A set of Key Evaluation Questions are defined for each of these outcome areas , and each is supported by an implementation strategy .
