should consider how to plan the library
that fits into the overall institutional

(2005), the strategic planning was developed by holding a series of workshop
for the corporate management team,
then for schools and service departments including the library. Librarian
plays an important role which is their
involvement in the development of the
academic library such as information,
learning, teaching and e- learning and
other than that, the librarian also need
to involves in working parties on issues
such as disability issues, plagiarism, student perceptions about library such as
how the library helps the student with
the collection they have, the service they
provided and the facilities they have. By
providing a good service to their customers, it can leave a good impression
to them about the library and can make
them feel the library as one of the key
place that packed with the information,
. As for the librarian, the skill is important in handling the library.
Nowadays, with the technology and innovation, most of the library
takes an initiative to change in order to
cope with the other university that used
the technology and the academic library
also think it give the opportunity to
them to further their library and information services. According to Thomas (2010), librarianship should not to
be left behind, they should attempt to
achieve new capabilities and skill and
then exploring on how to put it into use
to further library and information services.
So, the librarian also should
take an initiative to learn something new
and the management also should send
the staff to the workshop or seminar to
learn about trends in the transformation
of libraries. As an example, the use of
virtual conference which is, a situation
where the students interact with reference librarians over computer without
being physically present shows that it is
important for the librarian to change because some of the senior librarian finds
it is difficult to change to the new environment.
