Fight For Charity Event Program Fight For Charity 2019 | Page 5
MESSAGE
FROM THE
M AYO R
I It is my pleasure to extend
warmest greetings to
everyone attending the 2019
Fight for Charity. Once again,
funds raised through this
event will go to a great cause
— Big Brothers Big Sisters of
Winnipeg.
The Fight for Charity
fundraising goal this year is
$50,000. It is an ambitious
target, but it recognizes the incredible
generosity of Winnipeggers when it
comes to giving. Those of you attending
and participating in this year’s Fight for
Charity are part of an event that has
grown significantly since it began in
2017, an event that has done a fantastic
job raising money and awareness for
local charities. Thank you all!
The Fight for Charity puts
Manitobans from all walks of life
in the ring to smash their personal
fitness goals, build sportsmanship
and fundraise. From the gruelling 12-
week training program for the boxers,
to the generosity of the
sponsors, to the tireless
organizers and volunteers
who put hours of work
into making the evening
a success, there are a lot
of people involved in this
event fighting for a better
Winnipeg. Big Brothers
Big Sisters of Winnipeg
works to build a community
where we have happy, healthy young
people and that is certainly something
to fight for!
On behalf of the City of Winnipeg,
I hope you will all enjoy a spectacular
night of boxing, casino games, live
music and red carpet glamour in support
of a great cause.
Warmly,
MAYOR BRIAN BOWMAN
City of Winnipeg
