This course is suitable for those with a recognised ability in art and / or design who wish to study a jewellery specialism . It provides you with a strong foundation in the design and manufacture of contemporary jewellery . You will learn a range of techniques related to jewellery design and will develop workshop skills using a wide range of precious and non-precious materials . You will be introduced to 3D design using 3D software , haptic control , and 3D printing .
Entry Requirements
In addition to a portfolio of work , you must possess one of the following :
Four National 5s at grade C or above
Intermediate Certificate : Art and Design Portfolio
Another appropriate creative course at SCQF Level 5
Mature students will be considered on an individual basis based on a portfolio of art and design work

This course allows you to study a variety of creative arts including life drawing , painting , 2D and 3D design skills , printmaking , and mixed media . During the course , you will develop a substantial portfolio and take part in an exhibition of your own work , which will all help prepare for employment or your next step to Higher Education . This course is suitable for school leavers who have studied Higher Art and Design as well as adult returners who have considerable art experience .

Minimum of two Highers at Grade C or above , including English and Art
National Certificate : Art , and Design SCQF Level 6
National Certificate : Jewellery SCQF Level 6
Another appropriate creative course at SCQF Level 6
Mature students will be considered on an individual basis based on a portfolio of art and design work in their field of study and experience
You may be required to take part in an informal conversation as part of the application process . This group / individual conversation may be an information session , a portfolio discussion , or a skills-based exercise

Your creativity will thrive on this course as you learn about fashion design , textile and market research , pattern cutting , garment manufacture , fashion promotion , merchandising , and selling . Following a fashion business path , your knowledge and skills will be developed enabling progression on to further study or employment .
