Pathway to Social Sciences is for students who want to explore Social Science subjects such as Psychology , Criminology and Sociology . It can be studied as a one year or a two-year programme . You will study how social sciences help us to make sense of every aspect of the world we live in . A course focused approach allows you to recognise how the disciplines overlap and interact . A key theme of this course is the evolution of society , and the methods that humans have developed to try to understand and shape it . You will develop your academic skills to help you to make the most of your studies .

Four National 4s in relevant subjects ( such as English , History , Modern Studies , Geography , RMPS , Business Studies )

This course offers a variety of subjects at SCQF Level 6 ( the same level as Highers ), with a view to moving on to HNCs , HNDs , or degrees . A great way to gain the extra Highers you need for university , or the qualifications that you need to access an HNC , which can lead on to HND or degree .

Intermediate Certificate : Pathway to HNC / D and Degree
Successful completion of other relevant National 5 courses ( e . g ., Care , Business , Social Sciences )

You will learn about the society we live in , individual behaviour and what makes us who we are , gaining Higher level qualifications along the way . If you find yourself asking “ why ?” as you watch the news or listen to politicians or see problems in society , then this course might be for you .
