The HNC in Sound Production is designed for those interested in pursuing a career in sound production and who wish to develop the knowledge as well as creative and technical skills needed for the sound production industries . Whether you are novice or with some experience , you ’ ll need to demonstrate a strong interest in sound and audio to develop your skills to the best . This is a highly practical course ; delivered in our fabulously well designed specialist professional recording studio complex . You will work on a broad range of projects from Solo musicians to bands , studio and location recording , live gigs and festivals .
Entry Requirements
One of the following :
One Higher at Grade C or above preferably from English , Music Technology , Music or Science subject plus 2 National 5s at Grade C or above . ( English at Nat 5 C minimum )
Foundation Apprenticeship : Creative and Digital Media SCQF Level 6 plus a National 5 at Grade C or above in English or Music , Music Technology
National Certificate : Sound Production SCQF Level 6
National Certificate : Creative Industries SCQF Level 6
National Certificate : Music Performance SCQF Level 6
Relevant industry experience and / or other qualifications will be considered on an individual basis

HNC : Visual Communication

Graphic Designers and Visual Communicators work with creative briefs to design products or digital content that carries a message to others . Social Media , Digital Advertising Displays , Posters , Calendars , Packaging , T-Shirts Mugs and Coasters are just some of outputs that need a good graphic design . Bands promoting their new music , manufacturers promoting their new product range , entrepreneurs promoting their products or talent & skills all need a Graphic Designer who is a Problem Solver with a Creative flair for colour , shape , typography , textures to help with the Branding and Imaging .

Entry Requirements
A portfolio showing creativity e . g . graphic designs , Photography , Art & Design etc . plus one of the following :
One Higher at Grade C or above with English National 5 at Grade C minimum .
SCQF 5 or 6 Graphic or Digital Design course
National Certificate : Photography SCQF Level 6
National Certificate : Art and Design SCQF Level 6
Mature students will be considered on an individual basis based on a portfolio of art and design work in their field of study and experience

HND : Creative Industries : Television ( Screen Production )

Are you passionate about storytelling and a career in the screen industries ? Film-making , cable , satellite , small screen big screen ; DVDs , downloads and streaming :, the need for stories and content is growing .
This course will develop your talent and essential craft skills for a range of roles in the screen industries . Whether it ’ s for streaming , small-screen or big-screen , you will be taught the skills of camera , lighting , sound and editing ; all equally important whether for film , TV , drama , fiction , documentary , or live content . You will also learn a broad range of skills that are essential to the screen industries and the wider world of work in the creative economy .
Entry Requirements
Direct entry into year 2 ( HND ) requires the full , successful completion of the related HNC with 15 SQA credits
