This course will prepare you to access Higher National level courses or entry level employment within the sport and fitness industry . The units are delivered mainly at Higher level ( SCQF6 ) and include both sport and fitness topics , providing you with a pathway on to HNC : Sports Coaching and Development or HNC Fitness , Health and Exercise .

External Candidates :
One of the following :
PLUS
Four National 5s at Grade C or above
A sport and fitness related course at SCQF Level 5
You will need a PVG check through Disclosure Scotland in order to go out on the placement ( s ) as part of this course
Internal Candidates :
Intermediate Certificate : Sport and Fitness ( minimum of 13 assessed SQA credits )
You will need a PVG check through Disclosure Scotland in order to go out on the placement ( s ) as part of this course

Advanced Certificate : Football Studies

This course is designed to support those who wish to pursue a career in the football industry . The course is practical in nature and allows you to develop your playing performance in an elite setting whilst also developing skills in a range of additional roles including coaching , scouting , sport science , and stadium management .
Entry requirements
You must demonstrate practical ability at a Regional / National level ( within the last two years ) and possess one of the following :
PLUS
Four National 5s at Grade C or above
Intermediate Certificate : Sport and Fitness ( with a minimum of 13 SQA assessed credits )
An equivalent sport and fitness related course at SCQF Level 5
You may be required to take part in an informal conversation as part of the application process .
This group / individual conversation may be an information session and may include a skills-based activity
You will need a PVG check through Disclosure Scotland in order to go out on the placement ( s ) as part of this course

HNC : Fitness , Health and Exercise
SCQF Level 7

This course will give you an excellent grounding preparing you for a successful career in the fitness industry either as : an instructor , personal trainer , as well as other occupations that focus on physical activity and / or health and wellbeing .
Entry requirements
External Candidates
1 Higher at Grade C ideally from English or a Science subject or PE plus
NPA : Sports Development SCQF level 6
or alternatively
Or :
Two Highers at Grade C ideally from English , a Science subject or PE ( English must be achieved at a minimum of National 5 Pass )
Successful completion of a Sport and Fitness course at SCQF Level 6
All successful applicants will need to have a successful PVG Scheme Membership check through Disclosure Scotland in order to go out on a coaching placement ( s ) as part of the course .
