Ways to study for a degree on your doorstep If you are considering studying for a degree but are put off by the thought of moving to university, the cost of living away from home, or committing to four years of continuous study without the flexibility of finishing each year with a recognised qualification, then why not keep it local and start your studies at Fife College? You don’t have to go straight from school to university to study for a degree; college can be the ideal stepping stone for students of all ages to achieve their goal of completing a degree. Ways to study for a degree at Fife College: Start at school with a NC qualification or a Foundation Apprenticeship (find out more on page 12) Continue Honours Degree part time at Fife College with the Open University Continue Honours Degree at University Year 4 Continue Degree at University Year 3 Complete Honours Degree at Fife College with partner university Complete Degree (BSc or BA) at Fife College with partner university Progress from a fulltime HNC or HND course at college on to Year 2 or Year 3 of a degree course at university (turn to page 20 to find out more) Some degrees can be studied in full at Fife College (see page 13 for more information) Entry level depending on existing qualifications HND/Degree Year 2 HNC/Degree Year 1 Employment can be found with these qualifications Fit part-time study with the Open University (OU) around your work and family commitments (you can find out more about the OU on page 21) Did You Know?
