olo en 2007 Bélgica pudo clasificar
por primera vez a una Copa Mundial
Sub-17 de la FIFA. Lamentablemente, los
jóvenes “Diablos Rojos” no tuvieron una
buena actuación, pues sumaron una victoria y cayeron en dos ocasiones, terminando en el último puesto de su grupo. Sin
embargo, ese equipo vio nacer a una de
las grandes estrellas del fútbol belga en la
actualidad: Eden Hazard.
En el Campeonato Europeo, Bélgica tuvo
un gran cometido. En la fase de grupos
consiguió dos victorias y una derrota,
ante Alemania. En cuartos de final lograron conseguir su pasaje a Chile, luego de
vencer a Croacia en penales. Sin embargo,
por esa misma vía, cayeron ante Francia en
semifinales.
El objetivo en la Copa del Mundo será, lograr avanzar de fase, y luego, confirmarse
como el buen equipo que demostró ser en
Europa, ahora ante los ojos del mundo.
