T
iene una data de ochenta años, cuando en 1935 se inaugura por primera
vez el estadio de Chillán, que prácticamente se vino abajo tras el devastador terremoto de 1939, que incluso convirtió el
lugar en un centro de atención sanitaria
para los heridos.
En 1961 el reducto es empastado y comienza a trabajarse en la iluminación y
los alrededores, siendo inaugurado como
Estadio Municipal de Chilán, denominación que es cambiada en 1978 para
homenajear a Nelson Oyarzún, uno de
los entrenadores más recordados de Ñublense, elenco que hace de local en ese
estadio.
Fue designado como sede para la Copa
Mundial Femenina Sub-20 de la FIFA
Chile 2008, por lo que se decide su total
remodelación, con un inversión de cerca
de 27 millones de dólares. Así el Nelson
Oyarzún se transforma en uno de los más
modernos de Chile.

t has a data of eighty years, when in
1935 is opened for the first time the
Chillan Stadium, that almost fell apart
after the devastating earthquake of
1939, that even converted the place in
a health care centre for the wounded.
In 1961 the stronghold is turned into
pasture and works on the lighting and
surroundings begins, being opened as
the Municipal Stadium of Chillan, name
that is changed in 1978 to honour Nelson Oyarzun, one of the most memorable coaches of Ñublense, team that
plays as home-team in this stadium.
It was appointed as headquarter for the
FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in 2008,
so its total remodelling is done, with an
investment of about $ 27 million dollars. So the Nelson Oyarzun becomes
one of the most modern stadiums in
Chile.
