3.2 Once the area to be cut is located, cover the area with masking tape. This will protect the fi nish and
help make your marks more visible on dark colors.
Begin marking the layout with the back perimeter of the cutout. It should be 2” in from the back where the
cabinet meets the wall.
If the cutout is on an island where cabinet overall depths are greater than 24”, the location should be the
same (2” in from the back of the cabinet the outlet is mounting to) unless the island end is to receive applied
decorative panels, or any other specifi c instruction.
In this case, follow the direction given in the plans for specifi c outlet placement.
