Field Installation and Service Manual SECTION 1 - INSTALLATION Providing Plumbing and Electrical Access Illustrated Method Sheet 112 Step 1 Dishwasher Access 1.1 Unless specifi ed differently, access to the dishwasher through the sink cabinet will be provided through a 2-1/2” hole bored in the bottom back corner of the sink box. Drill the hole centered 1-1/2” up from the bottom panel and in from the back of the cabinet box to clear any fasteners used in the cabinet assembly. Placement of DW Access Hole x x Courtesy Holes are ac- cess holes of varying types that are placed within the cabinets to allow for plumbing or electrical installations. 1-1/2” Dishwasher Access 2-1/2” Dia. x 1-1/2” These openings are dif- ferent from the openings made to accommodate protrusions from the walls or fl oor. They will accommodate plumbing and electrical work that does not yet exist but will be installed after the cabinets are completed. These access points may be visible or hidden. All Rights Reserved. x Sink Cabinet Dishwasher Opening 1.2 This access hole is usually visible when the sink cabinet doors are opened. Drill from the inside of the sink cabinet to- wards the dishwasher space to minimize vis- able tearout. Section 1: IMS 112 2
