Installing Toekick Skin

Step 1
Calculate and Cut Toekick to Length

Toekick Skin should be
measured and cut to the exact
outside cabinet dimensions.
Laying Out Toekick Skin Splices
Toekick Skin is a decora-
tive panel that is either
1/4” or 5/8” thick, used
to cover the face of the
unfi nished toe recesses
on Tall, Base, Vanity and
Desk Cabinets.
The material is available
in 4-1/4” x 96” individual
pieces and is installed
after cabinets are se-
cured so a single piece
can span the toe area of
several individual cabi-
nets without a splice.

Measure what is needed for the entire area and cut the longest pieces fi rst to
ensure the best yield from the material available.
If the total span needed is longer than 96”, plan the splice so it can be assembled over
a smooth area of the cabinet Toekick recess.
The best areas for this are centered on narrow cabinets or within a few inches of the
end of wider cabinets.
