Step 2 Cutting Crown Molding 2.1 End cuts can be made with the Crown Molding fl at on the saw table. Splice cuts can be made with the molding fl at against the vertical fence of the saw. Most crown cuts will be inside or outside corners and should be cut upside down, angled against the fence and table of the saw. This may be confusing, but this method allows the saw to safely cut the molding in a face up confi guration that will yield cuts of the highest quality and consistency. Remember everything you are planning as far as direction of the miter and left or right direction of the cut will be reversed in the saw to how it will install. Crown is Upside Down Lower Back of Molding is Flat to Fence Draw Guideline on Table to Help Align Crown for Repeated, Consistent Cutting 2.2 Make sure material is in contact with both the table and fence and that the part of the molding that will mount to the cabinet box (Lower Back) is perfectly fl at against the fence of the saw. It is helpful to mark the saw where the molding contacts it when it is in the correct position. This will help quickly make accurate, repeated cuts. ©2017 PCS Professional Cabinet Solutions.
