He first joined the board in January 2003. In his spare time DeBruyn likes to read and bike. His favorite movies are This is Spinal Tap and Macbeth. DeBruyn has cats, fish, frogs, and gerbils as pets and is a big soup fan. His favorite music is classic and 80s rock, but he can enjoy any music if it sounds good. We have a professional and (in terms of age and background) diverse teaching corps; we have talented administrators; and now we have about sixty million dollars with which to make badly needed repairs and equipment purchases. MEAPwise, we stack up very well with the rest of the schools in Macomb County,” said DeBruyn. DeBruyn said he would run for the board again.
