New ‘ Gold ’ standard in chocolate taste
THE new colour of fine Belgian chocolate is gold , according to Barry Callebaut , which launched the new Gold caramel callets at FHA2018 at booth 1E3-01 .
Roshin Perera , Barry Callebaut ’ s sales director , Gourmet , Southeast Asia & Pacific , says caramelflavoured chocolate creations are all the trend now and the company ’ s new Gold chocolate offers chocolate and pastry makers a new colour and taste from the finest Belgian chocolate .
Gold comes mainly from West African cocoa beans — mostly Forastero variety . It is expertly crafted and composed from a fine selection of ingredients such as caramelised sugar and caramelised milk .

cream and an exciting dash of salt . What ’ s more , Gold has a unique , warm caramel and pale amber colour , with a golden hue .
This new chocolate can be applied to confectionery , patisserie & dessert , ice cream and sorbets .

Two more Apple Nike Series 3 to be won in FBA food quiz
He came , he paused … and walked away with a jet black Apple Nike Series 3 watch . Mahendran Herusan of Trishmille Pvt Ltd , who runs a vegetarian restaurant in Little India , Singapore , was the winner in yesterday ’ s Foodbiz Asia 4pm lucky draw at booth 2N3-10 at Singapore Expo .
The first name drawn yesterday was actually a lady from Indonesia but as she was not present to receive the Apple watch , even after a slow count of “ one , two , three … and going , going , gone ”, the publisher Andrew Yeo had to pick another form from the box . And this was how Mahendran , who was present at the draw , sprang forward to claim the second Apple watch .
There are another two Apple Nike watches to be given away — one today and the other tomorrow , both at 4pm each day . So do come along to Foodbiz Asia booth and participate in the simple multiplechoice food quiz and the next Apple may be yours !
