THIRTY-FOUR companies from the Sichuan province of China are making a strong showing at FHA2018. They occupy a total of 28 booths in Halls 5 and 8 of the Singapore Expo.
The Sichuan delegation is led by Wang Ying, secretary-general of the Sichuan Import-Export Association. Wang says she is excited to bring the best tastes of Sichuan to this market.“ The Sichuan spicy‘ mala’ taste is unique, earning us the renown of being the world’ s most flavourful city.
“ Sichuan spices and seasonings now enjoy growing popularity all over the world.”
Wang says she has selected the companies carefully to maximise the opportunities that FHA2018 offers.“ The companies in this year’ s delegation are mostly representative of Sichuan produce. All are international companies with good repute at home, sizeable production capacity and are export-oriented.
“ They are keen to find new markets in South-east Asia and find a good fit to expand in this region for a number of reasons. Singapore is a natural market to start with because of the Chinese population here. Malaysia and Indonesia are big markets and with their local food culture, they are no strangers to spicy food.”
