Share what balancing the demands of being a full-time mother and a full-time designer looks like when the cameras aren't around and nobody is watching.
Balancing motherhood and being a designer has probably been one of the greatest challenges and greatest lessons of my life.
In the beginning, it was difficult to understand how I could continue giving my clients the attention they deserved while being fully present for my children. Motherhood is my first priority, but at the same time, I never wanted to walk away from this creative part of myself or from the clients who, thankfully, have remained so loyal to my work.
Over time, I learned that balance for me does not necessarily mean giving everything equal time. It means being completely present wherever I am. When I am with my children, I try to make them my priority. When I have time to work, I am 100 percent focused. Those hours become incredibly valuable, and there is very little room for distraction.
I like to think of running my home almost like running a company. My days begin early, with a little time for myself before the beautiful chaos of motherhood starts. Then I find pockets of time during naps, at night, and on the days when my in-laws help me with the children so I can meet clients and work.
I am also incredibly grateful for my team of seamstresses and tailors in Peru. They are an essential part of this balance and help bring the custom pieces I envision for my clients to life.
I have always loved challenges, especially the ones that take
me outside my comfort zone. Motherhood and entrepreneurship have taught me that balancing both worlds is an art of its own. It requires discipline, support, flexibility, and a lot of love. I am still learning that balance every day, but little by little, I feel I am finding my rhythm.
