Lauren: Sounds like the suit and tie is going out of style?
Goergi: While that appears to be somewhat accurate, the reality … it’s not going anywhere. Unlike most fashion trends, that come and go this look is timeless. However, the problem lies in the fact there is little comfort in a constricted suit and dress shoe. Men want the “look” without the restrain and today’s fashion is proving you can have both. Thus, brought on the evolution of the structured suit look.
Designers have modified the “business” look into something more of casual elegance. Notice the difference between these two looks. Both are stylish and both meet a need. One is more business formal with the nest (match) suit, business collar shirt, tie, belt, and dress shoes. The modified business look is still professional yet less constricted. This “clean” look of no accessories includes a jacket and pant that either match or contrast in color and fabric coordinated with a no collar shirt and elevated gym shoe. Both are equally impressive, making for a personal choice of preference pending the occasion.
