When Did Asking for Help Become Failure?
Some of the most emotional conversations I have with new clients happen before we've done a single thing for them.
I've talked with incredibly capable people who are on the verge of tears explaining everything they're trying to keep up with. Somewhere in the conversation, I'll hear:
“I should be able to do this.”
Why?
We talk about wellness constantly. We're encouraged to exercise, meditate, drink more water, get enough sleep, prepare meals, journal, practice gratitude and make time for ourselves.
All worthwhile things.
But for someone who already feels like there aren't enough hours in the day, even wellness can start to sound like another list of things they're failing to accomplish.
Maybe wellness isn't always about adding another healthy habit.
Maybe sometimes it's about removing something that's making your life harder.
