That is one of the reasons I love being a personal stylist. The goal isn't to turn you into someone else or dictate what is "in." It's to help you identify the colors, silhouettes, proportions and pieces that make you feel most like yourself. When you know what works for you, getting dressed becomes easier and when getting dressed is easy, you

have more energy for the things that actually matter.

My Yellowstone and Grand Teton adventure reminded me that joy doesn't necessarily announce itself. Sometimes it is a moose disappearing across the road before you can grab your camera. Sometimes it is turquoise water beneath a mountain. Sometimes it is your six-year-old's excitement when he spots a bison that he thought was a sign. Sometimes it is laughing and playing board games with your family after a long day outside.

And sometimes it is as simple as putting on something you love and thinking, I feel really good today.

We spend so much time waiting for the "right" moment to enjoy ourselves. The right vacation.

The right milestone. The right amount of free time.

But joy doesn't need permission.

Put it on the calendar. Buy the ticket. Take the hike. Wear the fabulous jacket. Watch the sunset.

Make the memories. Get dressed in a way that makes you smile.

Find what makes you feel good and then make time for it.

Because perhaps the ultimate luxury isn't having more time, it's choosing to spend some of the time you have on what makes you feel most alive.
