1. Limit Your Exposure to Negative Content

Do you find yourself picking up your phone first thing in the morning only to get caught up in narratives of us versus them? Do you lose hours following stories that cause you anger, sadness, despair, or fear? Do you feel worse about yourself, others or the state of the world after watching the news? If you said yes to any of these questions, you are draining your energy.

Take a moment to evaluate the accounts you follow. Unfollow fear-based accounts and those that perpetuate negativity, anger, and comparison.

Curate your feed by subscribing to accounts that promote empowerment, factual information, and positive perspectives. Fill your feed with uplifting content that inspires growth and resilience. Set boundaries with social media and set specific times for use to avoid mindless scrolling that can lead to emotional exhaustion.

2. Practice Stillness and Mindfulness.

Do you find yourself constantly worrying about your to-do list; maybe sometimes it seems the more

you do the longer the list gets? Do you tell yourself you don’t have enough time to do what you want to do? Do you tell yourself that you should or need to be doing something else? If so, you are

draining your energy.

Dedicate time each day to sit still and just be.

Focus on your breathing; breathe slowly, deeply, and from your diaphragm. Center your thoughts on an image, memory, or feeling that creates a calm or peaceful mental space. Practice mindfulness by observing your thoughts and emotions without judgment. Recognize when fear-based narratives arise and consciously choose to redirect your focus to gratitude or what is good in your life or the world. Shifting

your focus from fear, worry to appreciation, and hope cultivates a positive mindset.

3. Engage in Positive Conversations

Do you find yourself having the same negative dialogue with coworkers, friends or partners that lead to frustration or distance?
