NPK: Have you seen “The Golden Bachelor”?
CB: Yes. I watch a lot of reality shows…a lot of dating reality shows. I confess to that.
NPK: Because you enjoy them or for research?
CB: Well, I enjoy them. But also, for me as a writer, it's really interesting information. I love
“Love Is Blind” and “Married At First Sight.” I love these social experiments. It’s always interesting, and I’m even on dating apps.
NPK: You are?
CB: I'm still out there, and I feel like many of these dating shows aren’t serving a huge population of people who are dating, which is people over 50. I love “The Golden Bachelor.”
Being in your 50s now is completely different than being in your 50s fifty years ago or even twenty-five years ago. They invented social security at 65 because half of the people were dead.
Now we’re living longer, are healthier and look better…we see that on “The Golden Bachelor.”
NPK: Do you have any dating tips or a mindset that you would want to share to date successfully?
CB: There's a lot of stuff that happens on these dating apps. It just doesn't matter how old you are. Everybody seems to have the same issues. It doesn't matter if you're a woman who's 25 or if you're 55 or 65. There is a lot of ghosting that goes on. Like, you think it's going really well, and then you don't hear from them for two weeks. So, I think the most important thing is don't take anything personally. It's not you.
