1. DECIDE. Make the decision to change. If you are not happy with yourself, your life experiences, your current situation, your current job, relationships, etc., you absolutely have the power to change. You have more control over your thoughts, your feelings, and your actions than you may know. You are the only one responsible and able to change you. The first step is making the most important decision-to take back control of your mindset.
2. SELF-TALK. Your self-talk triggers emotions. Change how you talk to yourself. Use self-talk that affirms you are enough! Practice self-talk that is encouraging not demeaning. Create self-talk that supports the new person you want to be and feel. Be forgiving of yourself and affirming of yourself, and move away from guilt, shame, and criticism. Your words matter.
3. SHIFT YOUR FOCUS on making you better. Stop comparing yourself to others, specifically those who you perceive as better, richer, smarter, prettier, etc. Instead compare your past self to your present self. Have you grown better, richer, smarter, prettier, etc.? Ask yourself, what good (i.e. beliefs, thoughts, feelings, behaviors, memories) have you learned from your past experiences no matter how traumatic? What present thoughts, feelings, and habits will you start or continue to create a better present and future self. Are you doing the work to feel good about you? The most important person you need to like and love is yourself.
4. MOVE. Any kind of movement is good. Move your arms, legs, waist, head, toes, fingers, body, dancing, jumping, running, twisting, stretching, walking, climbing, biking, etc. You just need to get up and move. Movement increases your energy and your mood.
5. MUSIC. Any upbeat, up tempo, high frequency, strong base, and feel good music works. Some of the healing frequencies are 417 hertz (facilitates change), 432 hertz (natures tone), 528 hertz (DNA repair), and 639 hertz (heals relationships). Any music that makes you feel good will work.
6. GRATITUDE. When you wake up the first thing you should think about is what 3 things are you thankful and grateful for.
Speak them, think them, write them down, and feel the gratitude. You might also think on a time or place that made you feel special, joyful, pride, peace, laughter, etc., in order to create feelings of gratitude. Gratitude immediately changes the focus of your thoughts and triggers healthy feelings.
