What guests can we expect to see during the first season and who do you have your eye on for future seasons?
In our first episode we interview two Chicago foodies who’ve been writing for Chicago’s restaurant scene for decades. Then we speak with Chef Art Smith who recently provided help to his hometown of Jasper, Florida and other areas hit by hurricane Helene. We speak to retired Chicago Tribune Food Critic Phil Vettel who secretly rated restaurants for the paper for 30 years until his identity was discovered. We meet a man who worked as a linguist for the US military during the Afghan war and now sells amazing saffron to restaurants while using the proceeds to educate young Afghan girls online. I talk to America’s favorite weatherman Al Roker about his latest cookbook, his years with the Today show and the health scare that kept him off the air for months. I have big plans for some other famous names but also people who are not well known and whom I’m excited to shine the spotlight on. Food is what connects everyone in this podcast, but it’s the personal stories that bring it to life.
