What I have found, after working with thousands of people, is that when people feel like they are helping someone else or contributing to something larger than themselves, they have an increased sense of purpose and satisfaction. Research has also supported that giving to others boosts your sense of happiness, health and well-being.
3. Laugh! From a physiological perspective, laughter reduces stress hormones and boosts the immune system. Look for the humor in your daily life and give yourself the prescription to have at least one good belly laugh per day. If you notice that the day is going by and you haven’t had a good laugh, find resources to help! Search laughter videos on the internet, think of a memory that had you laughing. Even watching someone else laugh can help to get you laughing. When we are laughing, and when we are having fun, we feel fulfilled and energized.
