Think about it. Everyone is always so caught up on what is happening in the now, that we rarely give thought to what we are putting in our bodies. If plants do not receive enough water, you would notice them dying off by the end of the week due to their short life cycle. Human life cycles are much longer, so if a person never received enough adequate nutrients, the effects might not become noticeable until ten to twenty years down the road, once it is too late! By this time, it is very possible that a chronic disease could develop, such as cancer or diabetes. You could have done everything right, given your child love, discipline, education, and a good career. Then, right in the middle of their successful climb, they are stricken with a life threatening chronic disease. Now instead of focusing on their career, or their family, they have a slew of health issues. This takes up their time, money, energy, focus, and sends them into a downwards spiral that can be hard to survive. This may sound dramatic, but it is the case with many families in America.
The truth is, we the people have forgotten about the most essential thing to life, whole, nutrient dense foods. And it is not our fault! Good nutrition is rarely taught in schools anymore, and as a result, most kids will not even try a vegetable. We are surrounded with busy schedules and trapped by convenience, sugar addiction, bad eating habits and the corrupted food industry that caused it all. I know this can be a hard routine to get out of, but I know it is possible because I have seen it happen with athletes and families that I have helped! That is why I have made helping kids and their parents switch to a healthier lifestyle my main goal in life. It just takes some cooking knowledge and a little nutrition education with the right resources. That is why I started my blog, it is why I am a Food Revolution ambassador for the city of Austin, it is why I volunteer on local organic farms, and it is why I teach nutrition and sports to kids everyday, because I want to see change happen and I know it begins with them and their parents.

Parents have the direct power to create hope for our children’s future. You do the grocery shopping, you decide if they eat the school lunch, and you decide what goes on the table for dinner. So make a change for you and your children! Give your little seedling the nutrients they need to fuel their future! Give your kids the world by giving them good health. With good health, your child will have the strength and focus to take on anything, and you can be sure that you have given your child the best chance of becoming a successful human being.
