In an industry dominated by relationships and reputation, what steps did you take to establish credibility and stand out?

As far as reputation goes…I’m told that my nickname in the industry is the “Elegant Bulldog” - I’m very elegant when you meet me but when

it comes to negotiating and fighting for my client, you don’t want to be on the other side. I think it was one of my

attorneys who came up with

that and I still laugh to this day when I hear it.

There were a few steps I took to gain credibility and stand out. First, I worked 24/7 and answered calls no matter what time they called. I know we are supposed to have boundaries but buying and selling a home is nerve wrecking, so I want to be there for my clients no matter what time it was. This is one of the biggest purchases they will make in life!

My clients are always a priority and so I did whatever it took to make sure they knew I was on top of things – lots of calls, emails, texts and feedback. For buyers, I was very honest about whether I thought the home was a good purchase or not. I wasn’t there just to get a deal done. They always knew I had their best interest at heart. I always tell my buyers that I treat them as my close friends and family members in that I will be completely honest with them and would advise them as I would my own family. I want them to be happy in their homes and remember that I helped them get it. For my sellers, I make sure that they know I am doing everything I could to get them top dollar – from marketing to showings to negotiations. Marketing is one of my biggest strengths so I made sure everyone who needed to see their property, saw it. When I sell a home, I don’t just list it…. I sell it as though I am selling my own home and will tell them to do the things that I would do as if I was selling my own home.
