(WHO), since the pandemic there has been an increase in prevalence of anxiety and depression by 25% worldwide. Humans are inundated with information from our environment and are overwhelmed and exhausted by processing this information through our senses. Every human being experience degrees of stress, anxiety, and depression. You are not alone. This is why taking care of yourself mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically is essential to living a healthy and happy life. Overcoming anxiety by getting back into balance is a priority.
So what purpose does Anxiety serve? Anxiety is the body’s natural response mechanism for safety, survival and protection. Our bodies, however, were not designed to be in a constant state of flight, fight, or freeze. Chronic anxiety and stress reduces the body’s ability to protect itself, reduces the effectiveness of our immune system, and makes humans more susceptible to dis-ease. The underlying belief that creates Anxiety is the belief I am not safe, the world is an unsafe place and people want to harm me. These beliefs cause emotions of fear, worry, mistrust, and uncertainty.
