Fete Lifestyle Magazine May 2021 - Heroes Issue | Page 71

Black Men are gentlemen and loving. They are not afraid to express their pain and joy through tears. They instinctively share love through hugs and handshakes. They are vulnerable enough to exchange the words, "I Love You" and "I'm sorry." The fellowship between Black Men is a beautiful expression of love. Mutual respect is the bond that connects humanity. With humility and faith we know our lives serve a higher purpose of service to others. What I have learned from the Black Men that surround me is that relationships are more valuable than possessions, and that words are impactful.

I honor Black Men because they are the unseen Heroes that have shaped my life and provided the foundation on which I stand tall today. I want to say Thank You to all the Excellent Black Men in my life; I see you, I feel you, I hear you, and I receive your unconditional love. The next time you look a Black Man in his eyes, don't judge, simply smile and say hello.

Thank You!
