Filmmaking is an art form, that's a given. But what happens when films depict the story of art and/or the artists? The answer---art comes to life. From experimental films that are visual masterpieces to more mainstream films such as Woody Allen’s “Midnight in Paris,” films coordinate an astounding number of creatively gifted writers, special effects artists, costume designers, and cinematographers, to tell a complete story. The following films, some familiar, some hidden gems, are truly priceless as they not only provide entertainment, but educational information about art and history, and the influence it has on our lives.

You’ll probably recognize this first film, "Woman In Gold," which depicts the horrors of WWII and righting a wrong in the art world. As a daring young lawyer (Ryan Reynolds) and his client, Maria Altman (Helen Mirren) a strong Jewish survivor, work together to return the famed painting by Gustav Klimt. We feel connected to the two as they revisit the past and look to the future. This Oscar-nominated film is not only historically accurate in the courtroom, it is a touching and inspiring film, enthralling the viewer.
