For years her passion has been world peace. Since 1987, Mimi has been meditating on world peace by focusing on the St. Francis of Assisi Prayer.

Lord, make me a channel of Thy peace.

that where there is hatred - let me bring love

that where there is discord - I may bring harmony

that where there is error - I may bring truth

that where there is despair - I may bring hope

that where there are shadows, - I may bring light

that where there is sadness - I may bring joy

Lord, grant that I may seek rather to comfort - than to be comforted

to understand - than to be understood

to love - than to be loved

For it is by giving - that one receives

it is by self forgetting - that one finds

it is by forgiving - that one is forgiven

it is by dying - that one awakens to eternal life.

Mimi swears that ever since she started using this prayer, many wonderful things started happening to her. She was asked to exhibit at the United Nations in 1999 and 2002. She created the impressive 21 feet tall bronze sculpture Dance of Peace, just steps away from the Atlantic Ocean. About the sculpture, Mimi shared, “My inspiration was to create a sculpture symbolizing peace on earth. Many feel peace and happiness when they are by the sea. When one feels that sense of peace there is no desire to engage in war. Peace starts within each one of us and the sculpture symbolizes the concept that peace is here. The sculpture has been in place for 15 years and it has weathered not only the warm and sunny weather but hurricanes as well! Dance of Peace has come to symbolize life on the Rhode Island coast and it is often featured in magazine articles, tourism brochures and even advertisements. Creating Dance of Peace gave me great joy and I am so happy to know that it brings joy to many who see it.”
