Do what you love and don’t focus solely on money. Going to work feels very different when it doesn’t feel like work. Whatever path you choose, strive to be the best at it. If you do that and treat people well, the success will follow.
Looking ahead, what kind of impact do you hope your work will continue to have on the city and the people you serve?
It’s difficult to watch the world sometimes move away from the simple values of dignity, honor, and respect. It’s easy to lose hope or believe one person can’t make a difference. But real change often starts with one courageous individual. As I get older, I’m dedicating more of my time to volunteering and inspiring those individuals—because everyone matters.
