What was your inspiration for Elevator Music?

I have always wanted to create something in Chicago that could help amplify local talent. One day my friend Tommaso and I had an idea to record an hour-long set of him DJing, to help him book more international shows. One day, we scouted CineCity Studios and found that the elevator was the most visually intriguing location. As we were recording his set in the elevator, it dawned on us that it was, in fact, 'elevator music’. The original video of Tommaso DJing in the elevator eventually helped him land an international tour. So I figured with a bit more intention and commitment, it could do the same for others.

Why is your space for artists unique compared to others?

The setting is very ambiguous; after all, it's just an elevator. What makes the elevator special is the diversity of people within and the music being played. That's the idea; it's a specific space that is captivating on camera, but it's more about the music, artists, and people that make it special. Our platform isn't committed to just one genre. The range of artists and the people who enter are what make our space unique.

What do you want to provide your artists?

I want to provide artists with a neutral space that they can make their own. A blank canvas where an artist can creatively express themselves in their own way. Also, I want to provide artists with a platform that can introduce them to a wider audience while still catering to their existing fans.

What do you want to provide your audience?

Curation, community, and an exciting new way to listen to and view new or familiar artists. We have always wanted the audience to feel involved from both a physical and digital standpoint. This coming year, we are introducing an exciting interview portion of Elevator Music where our community can submit questions to the artist. This is to break the fourth wall a bit and provide personal insight into some of our favorite artists.
