Broadway Nights and That “Main Character” Feeling

No trip is complete without a little theater. We caught MJ the Musical at the Neil Simon Theatre, went in expecting iconic dance moves and timeless hits — and yes, those delivered hard — but what surprised me was how deeply human the story felt. The show is set during rehearsals for

Michael Jackson’s 1992 Dangerous World Tour, but it flashes back to key moments in his life: from childhood performances with the Jackson 5 to the intense creative and personal battles that shaped him. The actor playing MJ wasn’t just doing impressions — he was channeling him. Every movement, every vocal nuance felt magnetic. By the time “Man in the Mirror” hit, the entire theater was in tears or on their feet — or both. It’s not just a jukebox musical; it’s a powerful portrait of artistry, pressure, and the price of being legendary.

A Spring Fling with NYC

I ended my trip at the iconic Paris Café inside the TWA Hotel at JFK, and had one of the most peaceful moments of the week. Nestled inside Eero Saarinen’s mid-century terminal masterpiece, I sipped wine and tucked into a bright, satisfying TWA Airport Salad. It was retro glam meets travel zen — and the perfect closing note before heading home. If there’s one thing I took from this trip, it’s that spring in New York doesn’t need to try too hard — and neither do you. Walk a little slower, say yes to the second cocktail, get dressed up even if you’re just grabbing pizza. The city will meet you wherever you’re at.
