Chips in for Charity
Casino Night
Taste 222
May 9th, 2019
Chicago, IL
Project Style hosted their 2nd annual Chips in for Charity Casino Night on Thursday, May 9th at Taste 222 in Chicago. Over 200 attendees gathered to gamble for good and raise nearly $30K for the Chicago-based non profit.
There were multiple blackjack, craps, and roulette tables for guests to take part in the action. Those who found themselves lucky on the tables were able to use their winnings towards raffle prizes from TGIN, Kendra Scott, and Sunda to name a few. Silent auction items were also available, including an autographed jersey from Derek Jeter, concert tickets from Rob Thomas, men's fashion from Eredità Shoes, Brummell Socks, and Surmesur, fine jewelry from Rachel Lynn and Ora Nicole, ticket packages from the Chicago Cubs, and shopping sprees from Marcus and Alexandra Marks Jewelry.
Founded in 2017, Project Style, a 501(c)3 organization, uses fashion as a tool to engage and empower disadvantaged youth at an age when confidence is most critical. Project Style hosts in-school workshops that educate girls on how fashion and self-esteem intersect; teaching them the link between confidence and personal style, the difference between expression and objectification, and how to find and embrace their authentic selves. The girls can take what they learn in the workshops and put it to use as they shop for free from donated clothing pop-up boutiques that we temporarily construct in their school.
