industry my job is to keep my clients updated with the season’s hottest trends, fill closets with fabulous things, and make sure nobody wears the same outfit twice…or is it?

“There are 92 million tons of clothes-related waste each year, which produces half a million tons of microplastics. 15% of the fabric used in production is wasted, and 57% of all discarded clothes end up in landfills.” -Gitnux

That data indicates that the importance of shopping responsibly is more evident than ever before. My job as a personal stylist is actually to help my clients love everything they see in their closet and know how and where to wear things in multiple ways for different occasions with confidence in not only the way that they look but most importantly the way they feel.

First Step: The Purge

The first step in loving everything in your closet is to get rid of all the pieces that are taking up space. It’s time to purge the items that don’t bring you joy, feel outdated, worn, or simply doesn't fit your lifestyle. Before you throw those clothes away, PLEASE look into resale and/or donation spots that will ensure your clothing is not ending up in landfills. A few of my favorite options are:
