hen you think about feasting on summertime BBQ and all of Chicago’s deliciousness are you thinking about a sustainable life plan too? What will keep you at a healthy weight and lifestyle the rest of your life is due in part to what you ingest.

Is there an order to which you eat? No seriously! I’m not talking about diving into your summertime barbecue plate all at once. I mean do you eat certain food groups first?

I’m here to tell you that you can have all the summertime treats you want, but follow an order to get your nutrients in first.

There are vital and imperative nutrients we need for cell function. Of these nutrients, it’s macronutrients that allow our bodies to function with optimal levels of energy. Fat, carbohydrates, and protein build and support our muscle, skeletal, and nervous systems. Taking all that into account, there is no reason you can’t still have that heaping plate of ribs or any of the other picnic foods you love. Just make sure there is a method to your madness. I recommend you eat in the order of our macronutrient needs.
