If you’re unconfident in business, you’ll be constantly living on edge. Literally, you’ll be flooding your body with more sympathetic, stress hormones. These hormones promote a “fight or flight” response based out of fear, and we’ll be moving in a direction to soothe the fearful, unconfident part of ourselves, like a scared cat just trying to find a safe alley to hide in.
The belief in ourselves that goes around, comes around, and we’ll struggle to grow in business the way we’re capable of.
This becomes our subconscious truth and influences our decision, even if objectively by all measures, we have the skills and expertise to succeed. We’re a big cat who’s queen of the jungle, but our deep beliefs and thoughts may not reflect that.
Our Beliefs Becomes Our Physiology, and Our Physiology Becomes Our Actions
As another, less existential example, consider your state on your commute to work. (Even if you work virtually, think of your pre-work “booting-up sequence” as your commute.) If you’re driving in traffic, and physically become more stressed, you’re flooding your body with stress hormones.
