MIDNIGHT HORROR
If a little gore and psychological terror is what you like, then Australian filmmaker Damien Power has just the film for you. In “Killing Ground,” a young couple escaping the confines of urban living for the weekend, find themselves escaping much more than they bargained for. It’ll make you think twice before you go camping again! (Full review) (Interview)
DOCUMENTARIES
Sundance wouldn’t be the same without documentaries, and this year there is a definitive focus on the environment with “The New Climate” program. “Chasing Coral,” “An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power,” and “Water & Power: A California Heist” are just three examples of compelling and eye-opening films that should be on your must-see list. On a different note, “Tell Them We Are Rising: The Story of Black Colleges and Universities” and “It’s Not Yet Dark” are two exceptional films that are more than informative, they are truly uplifting.
