The second step is to to remind yourself that you may not know the full story. Instead of assuming you were disrespected, try telling yourself that you don’t know the other person’s full story and if you did, you would most likely understand. Maybe they are rushing to get home to a sick child or are trying to get to a job interview after being unemployed for a while. The point is, we really don’t know the story and for us to assume that others operate with malicious intent keeps us separate, disconnected and potentially angry. Imagine how different it might feel if you were able to practice awareness of your own story about others and give others the benefit of the doubt?

You may already be in this practice and so you are already connecting with what makes you a hero. If not, give this a try and see if it changes your perspective, feelings or behavior.

Are you ready to accept the heroes challenge? Practice Love, change the World.
