Ballad of the Sun by Adalise Navarro Feeling the Sunshine, Spring 2020 An EHS Student Special Feature Publication The rain has stopped The clouds have finally moved on Say farewell to all the troubles And watch them leave Now the sun has come out To grace the weary world With her warm embrace And wipe your tears away Hush now little one And leave behind The sorrow of yesterday For the light has come back Cast away the shadows And lock away the doubt For the flowers cry “The sun has returned!” Feel the sunshine As it kisses your skin And reminds you Of peaceful times Listen to the birds For they sing out “The worst is finally over For the sun has come home!” You have been through so much pain And suffered much loss But now, my lost warrior Feel the sun upon your skin For the storm in your mind has passed And the war in your heart has ceased Rest your head among the meadow And keep my words close to your heart Even when we are apart Know that I am with you Just as the sun returns after the rain I will always return to you
