Feeling the Sunshine, Spring 2020 An EHS Student Special Feature Publication Light Behind the Darkness by Gina Buvelot It was dark, very dark. They shouldn’t see a thing. This felt like an eternity, all alone in the darkness, no one could help. Felt like a complete loss, but then the darkness started to fade and the light came through the windows as if they were there all along. As the mysterious light came through the shining window she gestured her tiny hand in the light. It was warm like nothing she felt before, she felt Something inside of her glow almost as she was Meant to be there, the warmth of the light calling Her showing her a new time is coming, she can Finally get out, the time in the darkness is over, everything is okay. She stepped outside, the sun burning on her face, she couldn’t remember the last time she felt the sun. then her feet felt the warmth of grass, like nothing she could imagine, she was finally free. It was the beginning of a new time, a time where everyone was safe, it was spring of 2020.
