Hope During Quarantine
by Julia Dickson
My messy room was starting to mirror what’s going on in my mind.
I wished I could rewind and go ack in tie to find where my motivation was hiding.
For a while it was always right there, luring and waiting to be used.
But soon motivation turned to something new.
Thoughts of taking breaks never crossed my mind.
I was fine, right?
No.
I had been slow.
I had forgotten and was not talking.
My communication with myself and others way dying.
Barely surviving.
Not thriving.
So, I reached out.
To my friends, family, my boyfriend.
And was able to remember that there will be parties and fun in the end.
Once safety is restored joy will reign once more,
And when that day comes, I will be happy to my core.
What feels like a hundred year war will end soon,
And new beginnings will become anew.
