Feeling the Sunshine, Spring 2020 An EHS Student Special Feature Publication A poem by Sal Meller Walking down the street The heat so sweet Sweat beaded down my cheek The bright sun so inviting So taboo to gander upon The rays so bright and inviting Lost in her rays, Oh sunlight Wont you stay Your rays make me joyful The ray of warmth is so joyous Oh happy sun Won’t you stay I always am sad when I, Can’t feel the sunshine Finding Hope by Charles Asselin When you feel as though you are in the dark, And you are alone, feeling like you want to run. Everything seems to have disappeared, without a scuff or mark, And the purpose of your life has dwindled down to none. Life is no walk in the park, But you can try to have some fun. By singing a song, like a Meadowlark, When you start to see the rise of the sun. When it has fully risen, and is stark, You have a feeling as though you have won. Then you start to smile, caused by a spark, Showing you that this deed can be done.
