Feeling the Sunshine, Spring 2020

Summer Sun
by Savannah Sanders
Walking outside,
Footsteps in the grass,
I gaze up,
Seeing the bright blue sky.
I feel the warmth of the sun,
On my shoulders,
Turning them a bright red.
The flowers open,
Taking in the heat.
But when the day comes to night,
They close once again.
Distanced
by Greg Holmes
What I wouldn’t give to see this sun set
Its shine so bright each day.
Though its warmth is calming, I’m quick to fret
Lonely is the sun, when the moon hides away.
If the sun and moon are persistently apart
And their reunion is doomed to die
Will their love begin to depart?
Or will the two simply cry?
