School Choice Week January 25- 31, 2026
School Choice empowers parents and guardians to pursue the best learning environment for their children. It allows for innovative schooling models and methods that meet the unique needs of students across the nation. Education freedom ensures that a child’ s opportunity to access a high-quality education and pursue the American Dream is not determined by his or her zip code.
SVRCS is a unique Pennsylvania K-12 charter school that functions as a school of choice for the surrounding communities. Meaning it is a free education option for residents of districts, with the ability for students to return to traditional public schools, if desired. Families choose SVRCS for a different educational path than their home district by offering personalized, community focused education, with smaller class sizes and strong family involvement to meet the needs of students, based on their individualized learning paths.
National School Choice Week was designed to empower parents to find the best learning environments for their children, whether that be in a traditional public school, charter, online, or homeschool option. The week has been nationally recognized for sixteen years and organized by a nonpartisan National School Choice Awareness Foundation( NSCAF). Tens of thousands of schools across the country take part in recognition and events with parents and educators expected to participate.

SVRCS has celebrated by getting the students thinking about why they love their school and being appreciated by choosing SVRCS. The NSCAF reaches out to the school with activities to get the classrooms talking about school choice and to celebrate that freedom to choose. In Pennsylvania, there is a press conference held at the State Capitol on January 27th to highlight the many of our state’ s educational options and the opportunities they offer families.
