1) Set your budget- decide your total budget and who’ s contributing. This will guide every other decision. 2) Create a rough guest list- even an estimate helps determine venue size, catering costs, and overall vibe. 3) Choose a date( or date range). Be flexible, if possible- this can save money and increase venue availability. 4) Book your venue. Ceremony and reception locations are often booked first and far in advance.
5) Hire key vendors. Prioritize: Photographer / Videographer • Caterer • Planner / coordinator( if using one) Band / DJ. Remember- popular vendors get booked quickly!
6) Decide on your wedding style & theme- formal vs. casual, colors, season, and overall aesthetic- this influences décor, attire, and stationery.
7) Choose wedding party & officiant. Ask bridesmaids / groomsmen and confirm who will officiate.
8) Shop for attire. Wedding dress / suit first, then accessories and wedding party attire( alterations take time).
9) Plan the details- invitations, flowers, décor, timeline, rentals, transportation, and accommodations.
10) Finalize logistics & paperwork- marriage license, seating chart, final vendor payments, rehearsal, and day of schedule.
